Epididymitis probable cause of vaginal infection?

Randy-

My girlfriend and I have been dating for almost 3years now, neither her nor I have had any other sex partners. A few months ago I began having very bad pains in my testicular region, I quickly went to my Dr. got tested for the clap through a urine test(came back -), and was diagnosed with epididymitis. I was given Naproxen to alleviate the inflammation and told me not to have sex for about 2 weeks. I did everything as he said and It went away. At around the same time my gf began to have a series of yeast infections, she was tested for clap (came back -) and was properly medicated for the y-infection.

Well since then we have been very careful to be extremely clean, we now use condoms 100% of the time (which I don't mind), wash up before & after every time, but once again she got a long yeast infection, that was later discovered to be a bacterial infection...Our sex life is at a stand still... it seems that every time we have sex she gets an infection of some sort... Could this have been because of my bacterial infection, and it has just gone unseen all this time?  Or could there be something else going on....??? Confused and tired... I realize your not an M.D. but can you give me your opinion?  What can I do to keep this from happening??

Thanks!

It sounds completely frustrating! Yes, epididymitis could cause a yeast infection, and vice versa. Both are very common. My guess on this is that the current situation is unrelated to the first event. I'm wondering if her vagina is being irritated by a latex allergy or the lube you are using. She should explore that with her doctor. Another thought - are you performing oral sex on her? You may have an oral bacterial infection of some sort that is ping-ponging back and forth between the two of you. So, those are other possibilities to look at.
