Sweaty and redness

HI, I have a problem that my scrotum is very red and uncomfortable when i move, it also itches sometimes and is always sweaty. I was wondering if this is normal or if something is wrong. I'm 16 years old and i do shave, but could that be that cause of it? thank you for you help.

Could be a couple of different things. Shaving may be the cause. Pubic hair is not just "decorative" - it does have some functions, one of them being keeping the area lightly oiled. That helps to lubricate it and cushion the irritation caused by fabric rubbing against it. Many guys just trim the area and you may want to switch to that plan. Another possible cause is "crotch itch". This is caused by sweat mingling with residual detergent in laundered underwear. This also irritates the skin. You solve this by switching to a mild detergent, something that would work for baby clothing. And the long-shot cause - psoriasis. One of the first places that psoriasis appears is on the genitals. You would need your doctor to determine that. So, I suggest you start with the simplest possibility first.Randy
